Hello Year 2s!

It’s the end of another week. Well done on all the brilliant learning you’ve done. I hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend!

Did you guess who the jetsetter in the class is? It’s Sam!

Today’s learning:

Friday’s are a little bit different!

It’s our Love of Reading session today. I’d like you to sit down with a good book and enjoy reading together. You might share a book or your child may want to read independently. Talk about what you’re reading and ask some questions.

I said last week that the maths lesson Friday will always be the Friday Challenges on the website but I’ve found a lesson that looks good. It’s a statistics lesson about football. Click here for the lesson.

Our final Friday lesson is the art project inspired by Andy Goldsworthy’s artwork. Click here for the video which introduces the project.

Hello Year 4s!

How are you? Hope you’re getting on okay. The name of the mountain range that Everest is a part of is, of course, the Himalayas.

And here’s our pupil fact for today:

This member of the class has been to four foreign countries.

Do you think you know who it is? Email with an answer and I’ll let you know on Friday.

Hello Year 4s!

I hope you’re having a good week!

Quick question: what’s the name of the mountain range that Mount Everest is part of?

Quick request: email me with an interesting fact about yourself that you don’t mind me sharing on these posts. You can then guess which member of the class the fact belongs to.

Hello everyone!

I hope your Monday was okay and it didn’t take too much to get into the swing of things. I hope you’re enjoying the reading this week? I love stories about extreme challenges and survival: climbing mountains, polar exploration, adrift at sea, lost in a jungle. These types of books make up at least 75 percent of my Kindle library (the other 35% are maths textbooks)!

Anyway, here’s yesterday’s answers:

Hello Year 4s!

It’s the end of the first week and it has flown by for me! It’s just a shame that the sunshine seems to have disappeared. Thanks very much for letting me know how the children are getting on. I hope you have a great weekend and I’ll be with you again on Monday!

Today’s learning:

The reading lesson is our normal Love of Reading session. Relax with a book, talk about books, plan your next read.

The maths lesson comes from the BBC Daily Lessons. If you’re after a few more challenges, feel free to have a go at the Year 5 and 6 ones. The idea of these is that you work collaboratively as a family to solve them. Click here for the link.

Our final Friday lesson is a new art project about British artist, Andy Goldsworthy. Click here for a video which introduces the project.

Hello Year 4s!

I hope you had a good half-term and managed to enjoy yourselves and make the most of the warm weather. Things are changing a little this half-term as school as opening to more children. This means that most teachers will be back working at school full-time. The good news is I’m going to still be doing your home learning. However, I’m also now doing the home learning for Y1, Y2 and Y3. Hopefully, you won’t notice much of a difference but there may possibly be fewer video lessons with me.

Anyway, on to today’s learning…
