Our spellings this week are from the Year 1 common exception words list (words that do not follow the rules of phonics)

This week’s spellings are based on words with split digraphs (the sound is split with another letter in between – eg the a-e sound is split by the letter d in made). There is also a word, Eve, that is a name (proper noun) and the children need to remember to use a capital letter at the start of this word to get it correct.
