Where do you come from?
I was born in Middlesbrough and I lived there for all of my life until I moved to Leeds at the end of 2017. Middlesbrough will always be home to me but I’m excited about my new life in Leeds.
What is your favourite subject?
I think I’m going to have to go for PE. I like to teach children the physical side of PE but also the social aspects. It’s great to watch children working together in a team to achieve. I also enjoy Maths! I love to solve problems and Maths gives you plenty of opportunity to do that.
What is your favourite food?
Fish and chips. Living in Middlesbrough, I had plenty of great places such as Redcar, Saltburn and Whitby not too far away for the best fish and chips.
What is your favourite animal?
Dogs. I think dogs are great friends and have lovely playful side.
What is your favourite sport?
I love sport and it has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve played in football, cricket and tennis teams but I have to say my favourite is definitely football. I started playing for a football team when I was just five years old and still play now. My favourite team is Aston Villa.
Why did you want to become a teacher?
I became a teacher after volunteering to teach sport in a primary school. I learnt that each day is different and children have the ability to make you smile even when they don’t mean to. It’s also really rewarding to watch children achieve and see the joy that that brings them.
